Becky Lau is a volunteer at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, where she has dedicated hours of her time every week since the garden’s inception as part of the Weed & Pot Club. Thanks to her vast knowledge of native and indigenous Hawaiian plants, Becky is invaluable to the maintenance of the botanical garden’s 6-acre Hawaiian garden, as well as the propagation of new native plants in the nursery facility. Becky’s service helps preserve Hawaii’s many unique native plant species, and ensures that they can be enjoyed by the island community. We are happy to recognize her as one of this year’s Maui Volunteer Heroes.
