Nā Hoaloha depends on dedicated volunteers to run its Kupuna Kokua program, and other short and long-term projects. For the last two years, Daniel Ornellas has provided these valuable services: helping keep kupuna safe in their own homes and ensuring that hundreds of our island’s kupuna have enough to eat. He never waits to be asked, just makes the time after a full day at his job. When Nā Hoaloha was gifted thousands of pounds of food on two different occasions, Daniel was there with a smile to help load all the pallets of food items on his truck and deliver them to the office to be processed. No matter what, Daniel never loses his big smile, his positive attitude or his wonderful sense of humor, and his energy helps motivate our other volunteers. There is no doubt, Daniel Ornellas is a volunteer hero and makes each enormous task more bearable by his warm, generous, compassionate spirit.
