The County of Maui Volunteer Center’s Annual Training was designed for Volunteer Leaders who wanted to learn how to plan and facilitate successful meetings in organizations they serve. Thirty five (35) participants enjoyed an all day motivational and helpful workshop at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, near Kahului Airport. Participants learned new skills and refreshed old ones in the following: Agenda design and working with ground rules, Engaging participation and getting to decisions, Encouraging accountability and Dealing with difficult situations/meeting participants.
The HANO team facilitated a well organized and effective training, with success and engaged participants. “Excellent, specific tools and resources that I can enact immediately,” was one evaluation comment. The Volunteer Center is very pleased with the training outcomes and looks forward to a January 2015 workshop on volunteer recruitment and appreciation.
