HandsOn Maui and the Hawaii Network of Volunteer Leaders (NOVL) is excited to announce “Fishing for the Right Volunteer,” a volunteer recruitment workshop event held this August at the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale Marine Sanctuary. This is the perfect opportunity to get out of the office, enjoy some free food and get to know other volunteer leaders on the island.

One of the biggest challenges facing volunteer program managers and leaders today is “fishing” for the right volunteers. At this recruitment workshop, we’ll discuss strategies to “catch” and keep volunteers who would fit best with your organization’s mission.

Speaker Pauline Kawamata, Volunteer Program Manager of Hawaii Nature Center and NOVL Executive Committee Member, will hold a 60-mnune presentation on volunteer recruitment strategies, which will be followed by information on the new HandsOn Maui website, and the NOVL organization on Maui. In addition, there will be time for everyone to mingle and network and enjoy healthy snacks!
