As a non-profit organization, you have volunteer opportunities to offer our community, but how do you get the community connected to your organization? HandsOn Maui is the solution.

The County of Maui Volunteer Center joins with over 80 non-profit organizations to mobilize volunteers, helping fulfill their missions and meet community needs.

As an Agency Partner with HandsOn Maui, your non-profit receives many benefits including connections to our community and other volunteer leaders who desire to make a positive impact. Your volunteer opportunities can be featured on our GetConnected platform, on our blog, and on social media.

We have a quick and easy way to sign up as a partner. Here’s a few simple steps to follow so you can receive the benefits of being a HandsOn Maui Partner.

Does Your Organization Qualify to be a Partner Agency?

To become a County of Maui Volunteer Center partner and use our Get Connected service, your organization will need to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit doing business in Maui County, a healthcare organization, school, or government entity.

“A 501(c)(3) organization is a corporation, trust, unincorporated association, or other types of organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the United States Code. It is one of the 29 types of 501(c) nonprofit organizations in the US.” (source)

Step 2: What to Expect as a Partner

When you sign up as a partner your opportunities will be featured on our Volunteer Opportunities board. This gives the community a one-stop-shop to find all the best volunteer opportunities in Maui. You will also be featured on our social media channels and perhaps even our monthly newsletter!

Step 3: How to Manage Your Profile

When your registration is received and approved, you’ll be notified via email. This email includes a link that will bring you to our Volunteer Board sign up page. You will be prompted with a few questions about your organization and the volunteer opportunities you currently have available.

Volunteer Opportunity Titles

The title is the first thing a potential volunteer will see when they browse the volunteer opportunities on our platform. A catchy and creative title can catch the attention of new volunteers. It’s a good idea to test different titles to see which one attract more volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions

The description of your opportunity is the second thing a potential volunteer sees. A good description will include:

  • An explanation of the need and who the volunteer is helping
  • Description of the hours and time commitment
  • Important details such as age requirements or equipment needed

The other items of interest you will need to create an informable profile is:

  • Who you are and what you do (which you already answered in your sign up!)
  • A phone number to call with questions
  • Website address
  • A photo of your organization’s logo

We hope this blog was informative an empowering on your volunteer journey as an HandsOn Maui Agency Volunteer Partner. We love bringing good people and causes together by connecting volunteers with non-profits who need help!
