Aloha is an incredibly active and valuable volunteer at the Red Cross on Maui. Her initial introduction to the Red Cross was when her own home burned to the ground and the Red Cross was there to help. She immediately wanted to give back, recognizing she could help others in need. As a long-term resident of Kaupo, one of the most sparsely populated, sustainable and ancient districts of Hawaii, Aloha has a unique appreciation of Hawaii and its people. She has recently taken on a leadership role to assure the Red Cross is represented and available in this very rural part of Maui. Incredibly, despite a lengthy — and many would say “challenging” — commute to other parts of the island, Aloha is always there. She is often the first on scene and jumping right in to help. Her attitude is always positive, and her skills and work ethic are superb.
