Kathleen Soule has been an incredible asset to the volunteer team at Na Hoaloha. They provide support services to seniors or homebound persons with disabilities. Their mission is to help seniors live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. With the assistance of their volunteer team, Na Hoaloha helps prevent social isolation and loneliness for homebound kupuna in our community.
Na Hoaloha wishes to recognize Kathleen as the Volunteer Hero she is. From offering companion care to the elderly to answering requests from homebound seniors, she is always willing to go the extra mile. Kathleen’s compassion and work ethic make her the perfect embodiment of their organization’s mission.
Kathleen enrolled in the organization after reading an article about Na Hoaloha and the services it provided to Kupuna. Deciding to give back, she became a volunteer by providing transportation. During her time, she also became involved in delivering “Kupuna Boxes” each month from Maui Food Bank to homebound seniors for more than a year. Not only is Kathleen always on time, she always arrives with a smile. When concerns arise, she communicates with the Na Hoaloha staff for follow-ups and resource referrals. This, in turn, allows the kupuna she serves to maintain their independence and enhances the support Na Hoaloha is able to offer.
Kathleen has compassion for everyone she volunteers with. She always shows respect and takes the time to listen. Her sincere and confident personality allows those she serves to feel secure in her care. Despite all the volunteering she does, Kathleen also works full-time as an EMT. Na Hoaloha wishes to recognize and thank her for her commitment, dedication, and hard work.
