Pierre Parranto is helping to keep Maui clean for generations to come. As the President of the Student Ohana for Sustainability at University of Hawaii Maui College (UHMC), Pierre regularly organizes a team to tackle one of the most littered areas in Central Maui through the Adopt a Highway program. A model Community Cleanup Coordinator for Malama Maui Nui (Community Work Day Program), Pierre’s most recent cleanup rallied about 20 volunteers who collected approximately 1,000 pounds of litter in a two-hour period. The organization is proud that they can count on Pierre and his team to help maintain Kahului Harbor area and appreciative of the multiplier effect his work has on inspiring others to adopt the spirit of helping.
