A true animal lover, Marie Thoma of Makawao understands instinctively how healing animals can be, just one of the reasons she has volunteered for the Haku Baldwin Center’s Animal-Assisted Therapy and Humane Animal Education Programs for the past four years. Marie shares her enthusiasm, warmth, compassion and endearing aloha spirit as she visits hundreds of patients and residents of all ages with therapy animals each month and assists keiki classes with hands-on learning on taking care of animals. The Haku Baldwin Center describes Marie as a true hero for her dedication and commitment to others.
