Since its establishment in 1994, the Kahoolawe Island Reserve Commission has carried out the monumental task of restoring and protecting the island. Volunteer Hero Daniel Southmayd supports the KIRC’s invaluable mission to educate and preserve Kahoolawe’s history and cultural significance.
An ambassador of aloha, Mr. Southmayd goes above and beyond to ensure the success of Kahoolawe Island Reserve Commission’s community events on Maui, and to make sure that everyone involved with this organization is well cared for. Daniel Southmayd is humble, selfless and a true Hawaiian culture leader. His efforts make him a hero to the Kahoolawe Island Reserve Commission and its mission.
