The workshop is for Volunteer Leaders and Managers who promote their Volunteer Programs via social media. At this workshop, Nicole will

  • highlight best practices and potential pitfalls for organizational use of social media
  • demystify various types of social media into easy-to-understand tools
  • discuss how you can start your own social media suite for your organization
Nicole A. Velasco

Presented by Nicole A. Velasco, Executive Secretary of the Neighborhood Commission, City & County of Honolulu

Nicole A. Velasco serves as the Executive Secretary of the Neighborhood Commission. On behalf of the City & County of Honolulu, she oversees an office staff of 15 which administers the Neighborhood Board System comprised of 33 active boards, 437 board members, and a commission of nine members. Velasco is the youngest appointed Cabinet member of the Caldwell Administration.

Nicole has worked as an analyst for both the Hawaii State Office of the Auditor and the Finance Committee of the Hawaii State House of Representatives. Previously, Nicole served as a Government Affairs Advisor at Ashford & Wriston, LLP, representing a variety of clients with legislative concerns in the State of Hawaii.

A $10 donation to NOVL is strongly encouraged to support Maui workshops in 2015 (NOVL members do not need to donate). Cash or checks will be accepted at registration.
